Clouds of Imagination - A Photographic Study - Volume 2

Approximately 65 pages with approximately 60 monochrome images.

For as long as I can remember, and that is quite a long time, I have been fascinated with clouds. I also seem to be in good company as many others seem to be fascinated as well.

Here in Arizona we seem to have few, but when we do, they can be quite impressive, often violent, malevolent, and they most certainly command attention.

The following material is a photographic study of these clouds, many of which I have chased half-way across the state so deep is my fascination. There is no text, only impression.

The author began photography and photo-journalism in early 1963 when he accepted an offer from his local newspaper to write about and photograph sports events at the Arizona high school where he was a junior. After a stint in the service, he had an opportunity to study photography and printing techniques with Bernard Hoffman, a true gentleman and scholar, and one of the earliest staff photographers for Life Magazine.

Since that time he has had thousands of photographs and hundreds of articles published by more than 60 national and international periodicals. He was also a contributing editor for one of them for more than ten years. Topics ran the gamut from professional sports, medicine, archeology, and photography to science.

After twenty years away from Arizona he returned in 1985 and it has been the base from which all his photographic excursions are launched. Along with many others he has embraced digital photography but can still be seen, from time to time, peering through the ground glass of a large format camera, hoisting a large medium format 6x7, or indeed still using a 35mm film camera.

The photographer currently has fine art photography on exhibit at The Center for Fine Arts in Globe, Arizona and is currently represented by more than ten stock photo agencies where he has more than 13,000 photographs available for commercial use.

Posing Guide For Models and Photographers - Volume 8 Featuring Melissa (Posing Guides)

These modeling guides are ENTIRELY pictorial and were created to install on a portable reading device to aid both the photographer and/or model. Specific poses of interest should be bookmarked for quick retrieval by either should the model or photographer wish to re-create the pose or use it as a starting point for something similar. It is also an aid should either suffer from "creative block" which is almost identical to "writer's block."

Approximately 60 Pages

These posing guides were created to make available to both photographers and models an inexpensive guide to posing and are priced as low as the publisher will allow. They are not intended to be a definitive work on posing. Nor are they attempting to define the only way posing can be approached. All models are unique and bring their own style and personality to the image. The accomplished photographer recognizes this and tries to emphasize the individual characteristic that each model presents.

Photography is a visual medium. The photographer must learn to see what presents itself in the viewfinder. Although much can be explained in writing much more can be gleaned by presenting the work in a visual format. It is much easier to show a model or photographer what you are looking for than trying to communicate it by other means. That is why there is such a heavy emphasis on imagery in these books. I hope you enjoy them and that they are useful in your work. More than 55 color pictures in this work.

The artist that created this work (the author) has been a photographer for more than 40 years and has had thousands of his photographs published worldwide. In addition, the author is represented by more than a dozen agencies and all of these images have appeared in publications around the world.

The photographer currently has fine art photography on exhibit at The Center for Fine Arts in Globe, Arizona.

Experiments In Impressionism - A Photographic Study - Volume 6 (art)

Approximately 78 pages with about 75 color images – this book is entirely pictorial.

From the first instant that I saw the work of Monet and Renoir in an art galley decades ago I was astonished and admired the work so intently that I resolved to create some images that would at least attempt the world of impressionism even though I must describe myself as much more of an ‘Ansel Adams’ acolyte. The following images are the result. For those who are interested in such things, all the images contained herein were taken with a wide variety of cameras ranging from a Nikon F3 35mm film camera through a Nikon N8008.

The author began photography and photo-journalism in early 1963 when he accepted an offer from his local newspaper to write about and photograph sports events at the Arizona high school where he was a junior.
